For a March pattern there was only one choice - a daffodil. I love having a vase of these on my desk as I work, they are so joyful.

With this pattern there are so many options for making it unique:

• vary the colour of the daffodils - stitch them both in the same colour way or even stitch the petals and trumpet in the same colour

• when tracing the pattern vary the number of flowers you trace

• add in a vase or leaves (you’ll see from the video below of my making of this pattern that I tried both of these and decided to go for the simplest composition!)
